Mountain Mindfulness Sangha is
a community in Western North Carolina who support one another through practicing engaged Buddhism in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh. "Sangha" is a spiritual community, connected by the practice of mindfulness, walking together on the path of liberation. We can
rely on the Sangha and trust it to support our deepest aspirations and
give us energy and inspiration on the path of practice.
Through our
weekly Sangha practice of sitting and walking meditation, reading Thay’s
words, participating in Dharma discussions and chanting, we learn how
to be more compassionate with ourselves and each other.
We meet Thursday evenings 7-8:30 p.m. near downtown Asheville, NC, and Tuesday mornings 8-8:40 a.m.
All are welcome in our Sangha! We welcome the participation of people from all backgrounds, regardless
of ethnic origin, race, cultural background, socio-economic class, age,
gender and sexual orientation. We are committed to fostering a practice
environment where all may experience positive transformation and
healing.
I
take refuge in the three jewels: the Buddha (and the Buddha in myself),
the Dharma (the teachings), and the Sangha (the community of practice).
